👊 Meet Coach Dusty – Your Guide on the Mat and a top BJJ blackbelt in Buffalo, NY
At the heart of our women’s self-defense program is Coach Dusty, a seasoned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor with a deep passion for empowering others through martial arts.
With over a decade of training and competition experience, Coach Dusty brings a patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable approach to every class. His ability to break down techniques into easy-to-learn steps makes him especially effective at helping beginners feel comfortable and confident on the mat.
But beyond technique, Coach Dusty is committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment. His goal? To ensure every woman walks away feeling stronger, safer, and more self-assured than when she walked in.
“You don’t have to be a fighter to learn how to protect yourself,” Dusty often says. “You just have to show up.”

📖 A Story of Empowerment
You’re walking alone to your car after a late evening at work. The parking lot is mostly empty, and a man begins approaching you quickly, calling out. Your heart races — but instead of freezing, you stand your ground with calm, controlled confidence.
This is a hypothetical example, inspired by the experiences of many women who have trained in self-defense.
After just a few weeks in the Wolves Academy women’s self-defense program, someone in this situation might have practiced setting verbal boundaries, managing fear, and using simple, effective techniques to stay safe.
In this scenario, a firm voice and confident body language cause the approaching individual to stop, hesitate, and walk away. No fight, no panic — just preparation, awareness, and control.
That’s the power of training. That’s the peace of mind we aim to provide.
