Philosophy
When I decided to take the jump and start Wolves Jiu-Jitsu, I wanted to do things a little differently than what you traditionally see at many other BJJ gyms. Those who have been in the game for a while, understand that their is an impossible amount of technique available to learn. My goal is take the game and begin to strip it back to its roots, meaning every class we work in live situations, the fundamental goals for the common situations. I plan on removing the things practitioners often disdain about class ( speeches, unrelated warmups, paid promotions) and keeping what makes people want to come to class in the first place. This means no more boring warmups, less fluff , and more active classes, like grappling from low variable situations, that will allow students to get warmed up without increase to injury. We are here to create an atmosphere that encourages creative expression, mutual support, fun, but with emphasis on hard work, live training, and a focus on core concepts. Consistency and hard work is the only way to get proficient at Jiu-Jitsu and I don’t believe in telling people otherwise. Jiu-Jitsu is tough, but many of those who train will say it has produced some of the best memories in their lives and has also led to many improvements in their quality of life . Our mats are open to everybody who respects the basic guidelines, regardless of their background or goals.
In addition we aim to create a social club aspect. At a lot of gyms people train and go home. We aim to have everything from event watch parties, table and video games, fundraisers for charities, and more to help us create a strong culture between all of us and do good for the community. Our Goals

  • Provide financial subsidies for dedicated athletes competing at high level tournaments to help cover travel and competition cost.
  • Provide a safe haven for women in the community to gain empowerment skills via a Free Women’s Self-Defense Program.
  • Provide a competitive, but supportive base with a focus on creativity, core concepts, and friendship. We will focus on giving members the things they look forward to in a class and remove the things they do not like.
  • Develop young minds to be strong, fit, confident, humble, with a strong Jiu-Jitsu skill set.
  • Take care of our coaches as best as we can financially, because no one can do this alone.
  • Provide a high level yet affordable service for all who wish to learn.
